I contributed toward the following article about Hydration in the Parks. (There is some good conversation over there as well on this very topic.) This is one of those topics that I think we all know about but sometimes are not really prepared for. I mean, while it may not be super hot here at home, I know that its really hitting some high temps down south.
Hydration is one of those things that you must keep in mind if you want to enjoy the parks in the heat. I think that many that complain about the heat are those that experience their bodies shutting down when they are not hydrated and overheating. Preparedness is key and it will make any trip much more enjoyable and safer.
Hydrate before you go out for the day.
Hydrate at meals.
Hydrate as often as possible.
Steady hydration is (probably) better than chugging beverages trying to “catch up” to quench thirst.
Hydrate in the evening as a part of your night time routine.
What are some of your hydration tips?
